Azena to showcase specialized platform for patient bed fall prevention and other analytics for healthcare at FIME 2022
- AI-enabled smart cameras offer real-time detection and staff notifications of patients that show signs of falling out of their bed
- Azena application platform for smart cameras uses Artificial-Intelligence enabled analytics to optimize healthcare processes and patient care
- Azena will be exhibiting with technology partner DARVIS to live demonstrate the bed fall prevention application at booth #R87
PITTSBURGH, PA – 25 July, 2022 – Azena has announced that it will be showcasing its platform for specialized video analytic applications - including patient bed fall prevention and other healthcare analytic applications at the Florida International Medical Expo (FIME) in Miami Beach, Fl, July 27 - 29, 2022. The Azena platform and apps can be used to detect and help mitigate patient falls by identifying the presence of behavioral and environmental hazards within a healthcare facility.
AI-enabled video analytic applications for healthcare operations are offered as part of the Azena open application store for smart cameras. Analytic capabilities include a groundbreaking bed fall prevention app from DARVIS which monitors and analyzes patient behavior to determine whether a patient is at risk for falling out of their hospital bed. The app uses a 4-step monitoring logic and creates alerts for hospital staff that notifies in instances of abnormal movement, upright seating, an exposed limb, or a fall.
The benefits of the app are timely given the labor shortages in healthcare facilities and ongoing hospital crowding related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The use of AI eliminates the risk of human error in these settings and enables increased efficiency for hospital staff.
"Healthcare facility staff are tasked with the great responsibility of keeping patients healthy and safe and are balancing a number of priorities each day,” said Fabio Marti, VP of Marketing, Azena. “Innovative solutions for operational efficiency brought to market by AI-enabled video analytics are changing the game for medical staff, who can now benefit from spending more time on what matters most ‒ patient care.”
In addition to bed fall prevention, Azena solutions for healthcare facilities can streamline operations by tracking medical tools or increase efficiency by offering insights into how to reduce waiting time and improve patient intake in emergency departments by detecting issues with vehicle and patient traffic flow. Hospitals and healthcare facilities can also be assured that these use cases are in compliance with HIPAA and GDPR regulations.
FIME is the Americas' leading medical trade fair and exhibition, gathering thousands of medical device and equipment manufacturers and suppliers, dealers, distributors and other healthcare professionals from across the United States, Central, South America and the Caribbean.
