As part of our continuous strive for making AI-based video analytics as widely available as possible, they have developed their first camera-integrated solution for Security and Safety Things Platform. The re-ID application offered by Ultinous is able to identify reoccurring people on the image of one or multiple video surveillance cameras.

The solution utilizes facial recognition technology but does not require a database of stored reference images from people. The identification of an individual happens in realtime by labelling, through extraction of facial features: each individual appearing on the image of the camera receives an ID that is a numerical, coded identifier. The system therefore remains completely anonymized: the original images can't be restored. When multiple cameras are connected in a network, the application retrieves the extracted features and compares each occurrence. In case of a match, the identified person is recognized by the same ID over and over.
