Sina Springer Azena

What were your main reasons and motivations to join us?

During my studies in Management & Technology I specialized in Start-ups and Innovations, both areas that I find perfectly reflected in Azena. Security cameras and video analytics first caught my attention during previous positions in automotive and engineering companies where I explored innovative use cases. Therefore, it was a logical next step to start my professional career at Azena.

What are the central values in your working environment?

Azena offers a dynamic start-up environment that allows you to take on a lot of responsibilities right from the start. You get the freedom and support to realize your own ideas. Here I can fully unfold my skills and talents in a fast-moving international environment, since not only the team is international, but also the product is built for a growing global market.

Ask for forgiveness, not permission. Azena is about getting things done and taking risks instead of long approval paths.”

What superhero power can you draw on when you need it?

I am good at inspiring and motivating myself as well as others to leave their comfort zone and try new things. This helps to get the best out of the team, and do a great job: getting the best app developers worldwide to participate in a real revolution. I support them in entering unknown territories and taking first successful steps. This requires a lot of inspiration and motivation.

What are the most interesting topics you will work on here and what will be the hardest tasks to solve?

The more developers and system integrators engage with new surveillance technologies, the more ideas and concepts emerge. Almost every day new apps are released that empower security cameras with video analytics for a variety of applications. Our challenge is to identify and focus on those ideas with the potential to benefit a large number of camera users quickly and effectively.

“As a matchmaker between camera users' needs and app developers' ideas, I help unleash the power of video analytics in IoT.”

What do you see as the main trends in IoT in a business context and from your perspective as a Business Development Manager?

The security industry is gaining momentum. New technologies such as AI and IoT are leading manufacturers and integrators to think video surveillance more in terms of use cases and business value than hardware solutions and a pure necessity for security. Edge computing makes it easier to comply with privacy standards when connecting devices in IoT, because data can be processed and analyzed directly in the devices.

Our open platform for security cameras enables app developers, camera users and system integrators to benefit from new technologies as they emerge. I am excited to be a part of it!

Sina, thank you very much for the chat!
